The first week of school is not even over with and I am dealing with the gum issue. I love chewing gum just like the next person. I also know there are benefits of chewing gum. I understand that chewing gum can benefit concentrations and test scores. But, I am at the point the negatives outweigh the positives right now. I am finding gum stuck to desks, lockers, tables, and other assortment of places. I have wrappers littering the floors of the hallways and classrooms. I have students interrupting classrooms to see if they can blow their gum bigger than…
