Welcome back to our weekly series of Web 2.0 tools for the classroom! Today’s focus will be xtimeline, a handy tool for creating media-rich timelines.

xtimeline makes it easy to create and share timelines on any subject. Timelines can include images and video in addition to text and timelines can also be embedded in websites and blogs (like the one below by denise).

xtimeline can be used to replace any of your students’ current timeline assignments, but it could also be used to create a display of the curriculum for your class for parents or students. Timelines can also be edited by multiple users so they are perfect for collaborative learning assignments.

Jump over to xtimeline and give it a try!
